First Steps (Bath) is governed by a Charity Board of Trustees, many of whom are local professionals.  Our Trustees bring a wide range of individual skills and experience to the Board.  We are currently recruiting, and a number of parents using our services are expected to join at the Annual General Meeting in September.

First Steps would like to introduce and welcome Phil Holford, our new Family Services Manager, and Ann Thurgood, our new Children's Services Manager at First Steps Twerton Children's Centre.

Our Child Care Staff

The staff teams at our Twerton and Moorlands Children's Centre sites consist of qualified teachers, nursery nurses and nursery assistants.

  • The nurseries operate a key-worker system where each member of staff is particularly responsible for a small group of children.

  • Their role includes the keeping of assessment records, reporting on a child's progress and ensuring that each child's individual needs are catered for.

 

Our Family Services Team

The Family Services team consists of qualified teachers, nursery nurses and staff with skills and experience in individual work. They run groups and work with individual parents and families.

Our Other Staff

First Steps also employs a reception and administrative team, two cooks, a caretaker and a cleaner. We also work with a number of students and volunteers.
